The Jeanne R. Mandell Endowment
Zamir's active and ongoing commitment to the creation and performance of new works is a key element of its mission to ensure the future of Jewish choral music. The Jeanne R. Mandell Endowment, created by Phyllis and Richard Rosen, assures annual funding for commissioning a new work to be premiered by an ensemble affiliated with the Foundation, and its dissemination throughout the choral community. In 2003 alone, the Mandell Endowment has enabled the Foundation to commission four new major works by well-known composers.
The Ruth K. Westheimer Scholarship
Dr. Ruth Westheimer, a long-time friend and supporter of Jewish choral music and the Zamir Choral Foundation, has graciously established a scholarship fund for our HaZamir: The International Jewish High School Choir program. Funds are used to provide scholarships for students who may need assistance attending the annual HaZamir Weekend Festival and Performance.
