Hazamir: The International Jewish High School Choir

Founded in 1993 by Matthew Lazar, Hazamir provides hundreds of Jewish high school-age teens the opportunity to gather together and sing Jewish choral music in local ensembles. There are now 15 Hazamir-affiliated ensembles across the world, from Manhattan to London, from Montreal to Madrid. By providing a high-quality, structured program, Hazamir's unique experience helps foster a lifelong commitment to Jewish culture and music in young people, and builds a strong future for Jewish involvement among its participants.

 Each year we sponsor a Hazamir Winter Festival on Presidents' Day Weekend, attended by Hazamir Choir members from across the globe. It's a wonderful, fun two-day experience you won't forget. And it's capped with a grand concert at a major Manhattan concert hall. We particularly welcome interested teens who love to sing who may not be members of a Hazamir ensemble.
